Near Chartham, Kent – 3/10

An absolute visual detritus that could easily lead to confusion in the walker that does not have their wits about them! Gates and stiles are like two very powerful waring factions that should never meet, but here we have both right next to one another. No self-respecting walker should ever be expected to open a gate while standing on a style, and there is this at the same time as the hideously migraine inducing pallet of metal and different types of wood to add to the confusion. This visual dichotomy is a hideous mess – but at least we have a couple of arrows to helpfully remind us of the two directions we can travel!
