It is all about (literally) making a grand entrance, and this wonderfully ostentatious stile comes complete with a step entrance, a traditional piece of signage and a wonderfully cleared path.
The cynic would say that these extremely pleasing aesthetics may hide an actual lack of substance (indeed, ‘stile’ over substance), but the stile itself adopts the very popular cross step design and it is sound in structure and stability. The wood finish is not the smoothest but adds a rustic feel.
