Near Sandwich, Kent – 4/10

A rather peculiar one this; the bridge itself and the two stiles at each end are perfectly well constructed, providing safe passage over the water and firm structures, but what should be a couple of very inviting stiles that make the walker want to experience this piece of civil engineering look more like fences trying to stop them from gaining access, like it is someone’s private bridge.

This produces a rather unsatisfying feeling that the whole thing remains unfinished. I somewhat suspect that it was finished, and without the required steps, navigation is quite tricky over the rails.

Potential remains unfulfilled, which is very disappointing.
