Near Sturry, Kent – 6/10

This stile is yet another departure from the mainstream with its use of the already established metal fence and just indolently constructing the step within it. Well, as much those renegades that come up with such lacklustre designs should be deplored and discouraged, and it is only fair of me to analyse each stile on its own merits.

Though this stile is certainly not the most pleasing on the eye, it does do its job perfectly well, with the industry standard cross-step design at a nice height for overall navigation and the steps themselves very solid in structure and wood density. This one may court controversy in its initial approach, but it manages to avoid it overall.
