Near Chartham, Kent – 5/10

The perfectly symmetrical design certainly provides a very well-presented stile, and it would appear that the bottom right bar being missing is intentional so to allow better access for canine walking companions, which is a nice touch.

While the frame and step are very solid and sturdy, and the step itself nice and wide, the height from the single step to the top rail is a little to high, making navigation far trickier than it should be. A second step (with both steps then being diagonal and crossing one another would be ideal) would enhance this stile by some way, but it is otherwise a decent effort.
