Near Calcott, Kent – 5/10

Both the structure of the stile itself and wood used are certainly reassuringly solid and sturdy, inducing confidence for navigation. There is also a refreshingly good effort made to make sure the barbed wire is not hazardous and kept well clear, so credit has to be given for this (even though it should actually be a given but is sadly not these days!). This is yet another stile that is let down by the laziness of just having a single step, and though admittedly the solitary step is at a decent height, two steps in a diamond formation would have really enhanced this stile.
