Less can indeed be more in some instances, and this stile does admittedly deserve to receive a certain amount of admiration for its simplicity, which does in-turn certainly make it quite aesthetically pleasing due to the fact it is quite symmetrical. The wood used is also solid and sturdy, including the step itself – which is of an appropriately generous width.

However, there is no avoiding the fact that it is indeed just a single, solitary step – making navigating over that top bar unnecessarily difficult. This is something that could have been so easily avoided if that second, higher step had been implemented.
