Near Hatch End, Harrow – 6/10

Two steps should always be both encouraged and acknowledged in the stile world, and so this stile here does get credit and a reasonable score for its use of the two steps, but this has to inevitably be faint praise due to the controversial approach to have them side by side in an almost ‘staircase’ style. However, as the two steps are very close in their relative height to one another, they do not prove to be as effective as they could have been.

However, the overall design of the stile is aesthetically decent and reasonably sturdy, and therefore though the use of the two steps may court controversy in some schools of thought, it produces an overall solid, but less than spectacular result.
